Medical student Nur Afiq Zaki Ananda becomes the best graduate of Unismuh.

UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — Nur Afiq Zaki Ananda, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), was named the first-ranked outstanding graduate of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar (Unismuh Makassar) at the 88th Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

The announcement of the outstanding graduates was made by the Vice Rector I of Unismuh Makassar, Prof. Andi Sukri Syamsuri, during the Open Senate Extraordinary Graduation Ceremony for Diploma, Bachelor, Profession, Master, and Doctoral degrees of Unismuh Makassar at the Muktamar Hall, Unismuh Makassar Campus.

Nur Afiq achieved a GPA of 3.92 with a study period of 3 years and 6 months. He obtained a score of 94.57 and is from Takalar Regency. As a result of this achievement, Nur Afiq received a scholarship for further studies and is prioritized as a permanent faculty member of Unismuh Makassar after completing his second-level studies.

The Rector of Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Ir. Abd Rakhim Nanda ST MT IPU, described Nur Afiq's achievement as a special accomplishment. According to Rakhim, graduates with a high GPA and a short study period are a commendable achievement.

"This is very special. It is rare for medical graduates to have such a high GPA. His GPA is 3.92, and his study period is 3 years and 6 months," Rakhim said during the graduation speech.

Rakhim also mentioned that Nur Afiq has numerous international achievements and scientific publications in reputable journals. According to him, Nur Afiq's profile represents Unismuh graduates who are not only academically strong but also have scientific competitiveness.

In addition to Nur Afiq, two other graduates were also named outstanding graduates at the university level. The second place was achieved by Andi Shadiqah Muamwalah, a graduate of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, with a GPA of 3.92, a study period of 3 years and 8 months, a score of 91.73, and from Bulukumba Regency.

The third place was achieved by Andi Ade Wahyudi Asdar, a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Business, with a GPA of 3.89, a study period of 3 years and 5 months, a score of 91.96, and from Bulukumba Regency.

At the faculty level, Unismuh also announced nine outstanding graduates. They are Widia Astuti from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Andi Ade Wahyudi Asdar from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Andi Shadiqah Muamwalah from the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Nur Afiq Zaki Ananda from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sri Wahyuni from the Faculty of Agriculture, Ade Nirwani Abdurrahman Muttalib from the Faculty of Engineering, Sitti Rahmayanti D from the Faculty of Teacher Education, Elviana from the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Ir. Mirfan from the Postgraduate Program.

In his speech, Nur Afiq emphasized that achievements should not be seen as the end goal. According to him, achievements are a responsibility that must be fulfilled through concrete contributions to society.

"Achievements are not the ultimate goal. Achievements are a responsibility, a trust that we must fulfill through concrete contributions to society," said Nur Afiq.

He also expressed gratitude to his parents. For Nur Afiq, the academic degrees earned by the graduates are not only personal but also belong to the family who has sacrificed, prayed for, and supported their educational journey.

"The degree we wear today is actually a degree that belongs to you," said Nur Afiq.

Nur Afiq reminded fellow graduates not to consider degrees as the final frontier. According to him, the true value of education can be seen in how much benefit graduates can provide to society.

"This degree has no value or meaning if it only stops at a single degree. The true value of our education will be measured by how much benefit we can provide to society," said Nur Afiq.

He added that graduation is the peak of academic achievement, but not the end of life. After graduation, graduates should instead return to life from the bottom with enthusiasm, humility, and a willingness to continue learning.

"Today we stand at the peak of achievement, but tomorrow we must return to life from the bottom," said Nur Afiq.

Nur Afiq also encouraged graduates to carry on the good name of their parents, family, and university through their work and contributions. He hopes that the knowledge gained during their studies will be a blessing and bring great benefits.
