HMP Mathematics Education, Unismuh Makassar, to Hold Scientific Service Awards 2026, Strengthen Service and Interaction with the Community

UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAROS— The Student Association of the Mathematics Education Study Program (HMP) of the Faculty of Teacher and Education (FKIP) of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar, held a Scientific Service (BAKIL) 2026 in the Mario area, Mario Pulana Village, Camba District, Maros Regency. The four-day event, from June 11th to 14th, 2026, was themed “Serving with Knowledge, Strengthening Ties.”

The opening of the event was attended by local government officials, community leaders, as well as participants from the HMP Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP Unismuh Makassar. This program is one of the agendas of student organizations aimed at increasing students' social awareness, strengthening relationships with the community, and implementing knowledge gained during their studies.

In his opening remarks, the Head of Mario Pulana emphasized the importance of pursuing knowledge as a means of living. According to him, knowledge is not only a means of solving various problems, but also a form of charity whose benefits can continue to be felt.

"Pursuing knowledge is an important means of living and solving various problems that we face. As the saying of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, one of the deeds that will never be cut off is beneficial knowledge. Therefore, I hope that the participants can maximize this activity for the next four days," he said.

He also appreciated the initiative of the Mathematics Education Study Program students from Unismuh Makassar in organizing the Scientific Service. According to him, the activity not only benefits the participants but also strengthens the relationship between students and the community through various educational and social programs.

During the implementation of the 2026 Scientific Service, participants will participate in a series of activities, including a Motivation Seminar, Leadership Training (LDK), Elite Brain Competition, Islamic Fest, sports competitions, and a clean-up campaign. These activities are designed to develop participants' academic, leadership, social, and spiritual abilities.

Through the 2026 Scientific Service, the HMP Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP Unismuh Makassar, hopes to continue presenting service programs that have a positive impact on the community and also serve as a learning and character development platform for students.

This event also represents the commitment of students to implement values of service to the community through educational, collaborative, and sustainable approaches. With a spirit of cooperation, the Scientific Service is expected to strengthen ties and foster social awareness in the community.
